Petrides (1-0) pitched well giving only up 3 earned runs, all during the A's 5-run 6th inning which pulled them within 4 at 12-8. The Reds bullpen was able to hold off the A's, with each team trading a run late. Bradley got the final out for his 1st save. Rowland left down 4-1.. The Braves built a 9-1 lead and the Pirates chipped back with Three in the 9th to make it 10-7 or 10-8.. DJ Rhoads hit the First HR for the Braves, Branden Massey added a ground-rule Double, Shultz got lucky with 2 sigles up the middle, 1 walk, 2 runs scored and 3 rbi... The injuy riddled Braves took the field Tuesday with 8 Eight Players and somehow managed to over-take the scrappy A's squad lead by a chizzled coach Greg Ameil... The Cory's were the story, First Slining- other than a nice wind blown 3 run HR from Brisini in the 3rd, that's about all the A's could put on the board. Slining threw all Nine, Striking out 14 Athletics and adding a few hits to his average as well. Cory EVans was the man @ the plate getting 4 hits, and scroing 4 runs, stealing 3 bases...It was a total team effort by the entire Braves team that showed... Spivey had 3 hits, Jason Anderson had 2 hits: a 7th inning homer and a game tying 2-run single in the 8th. Leen had 2 hits and 2 runs, Jason Johnson had a 2 run-single. Benji Miller and Mike Jackman both scored twice. For the Cubs Ramos went 3 for 5 with a triple and homer, scored 3 runs and had 4 RBI's. Mashak also homered for the Cubs. Penn had 3 hits. Shawn Bradley led off the extra frame by reaching on a error. The Sox then walked both Donnie Smith, who had homered earlier, and Joey Petrides to get to Coursey, who finished the game with 4 hits.
