Reds Get Back To Winning Ways
The Reds returned to winning form Sunday, with a 12-4
victory over the Giants at James Island.
Charlie Smith scattered 4 hits over five innings of work to pick up his first
win of the season, and Keenan Cooper continued to pitch strong closing out the
final four innings.
Smith also led the way for the Reds at the plate, going 3-5, 3 rbi,
2 r, and 2 sb. Brother Donnie Smith and Shawn Bradley had 2 h and 3 sb each.
Sunday's game featured the lethal Smith brother to brother combination with
Charlie on the mound and Donnie behind the plate. Simply put, the Giants never
had a chance against that kind of Smithitude.
Giants Come Out Flat: Downed by Reds 12 - 4
The Giants came out flat against the Reds a game
which we could have easily won. The Giants only collected 8 hits on the day. It
seemed every time we had a runner in scoring position we couldn't produce.
Tommie Stanley went 2-4. Jeff Junkins went 1 -3 with 1 RBI. Paul Burnstein in
his CMABL debut went 6 and gave up 6 for his first loss of the season. The
Giants look to bounce back Thursday night against the O's at Summerville.
